Who operates Nutsy Notes
Nutsy Notes is an independent software project operated by Ofir Shavit in Israel.

Your workspace content stays local
Nutsy Notes is designed as a personal, local workspace. When you use the web application, your notes, lists, projects, images, drawings and other workspace content remain in your browser and/or in files and folders on your computer.
When you choose a local file or folder, Nutsy Notes works with it in your browser. We do not upload the contents of your files, filenames, folder structure, notes or projects to Nutsy Notes servers.
There is no Nutsy Notes account, cloud workspace or cloud synchronization service.
Your content remains under your control on your computer.

Local browser storage
The free web application and paid desktop PWA use local browser technologies, including IndexedDB and local storage, for workspace recovery records, remembered folder access, interface preferences and other necessary application state. The paid desktop PWA also stores a random installation identifier and a signed license receipt locally. Nutsy Notes does not maintain a cloud Workspace or customer-content database.
You can clear local application data through the application or browser controls. Clearing browser storage may remove recovery data, preferences, remembered permissions and the local license receipt. A lost receipt may require online reactivation or a manual activation reset through support. Uninstalling a PWA does not necessarily delete its browser storage; browser behavior varies.

Normal network and hosting information
Opening the website or web application requires normal network communication to deliver HTML, styles, scripts, images and other application resources.
Our hosting infrastructure may process standard technical request information, including IP address, request time, requested resource, browser information and security-related logs. This information is used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service, not to inspect your workspace content.

Desktop activation and updates
When you activate the paid desktop PWA, it sends the license key you enter, a random installation identifier and the application version to the Nutsy Notes activation endpoint. The key is passed to Lemon Squeezy for validation and activation. Nutsy Notes returns a signed receipt bound to that installation; the key itself is cleared and is not stored by the application.
After successful activation, ordinary launches verify the receipt locally and require no recurring license validation or background licensing connection. The activation plugin maintains no customer or entitlement database and no activity log. It keeps only a salted rate-limit counter derived from the source IP for ten minutes. Ordinary hosting infrastructure may still process the IP address, time, path and similar security information in access logs.
While the paid PWA is open and online, it may check an anonymous same-origin release manifest at most once every 24 hours. You can disable automatic checks or check manually. The request contains no installation, license, device or Workspace identifier. Update files are downloaded only after you choose to install an available update.

Purchases and Lemon Squeezy
Lemon Squeezy acts as Merchant of Record for paid Nutsy Notes licenses and processes checkout, payment, tax, fraud prevention, receipts, refunds, customer order records and license-key delivery. It provides Nutsy Notes with purchase and license information needed to administer the product and support customers, such as customer and order details, license status and activation usage. Nutsy Notes does not receive or store complete payment-card details.
Lemon Squeezy processes this information under its Privacy Policy and Buyer Terms.

Google Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand general usage of the Nutsy Notes website and web application and to improve the product.
Google Analytics may process pseudonymous technical and usage information such as:
- pages viewed and basic interactions with the website and web application;
- session information;
- browser, device and operating-system information;
- approximate country;
- a pseudonymous browser identifier.
We do not intentionally send notes, list text, images, drawings, filenames, folder names or other workspace content to Google Analytics. Analytics is used to measure general product usage, not to read or profile the contents of your work.
Analytics does not load unless you allow optional analytics through the privacy controls, and you can revisit that choice in Settings. Rejecting optional analytics prevents the Google Analytics script from being requested. The paid desktop PWA does not include Google Analytics or the web analytics consent interface.
Google Analytics may use first-party cookies to distinguish pseudonymous visitors and sessions. User- and event-level data retention is configured to two months.

Email, newsletter and support
Nutsy Notes does not currently use a website contact form. If you contact us by email, we receive the email address you use, the content of your message and any information or attachments you voluntarily include.
We use this information to respond to your request, provide support, maintain necessary business records and comply with legal obligations.
If you subscribe to the Nutsy Notes newsletter, the email address you provide and, optionally, your name are sent directly to Lemon Squeezy and added to the Nutsy Notes subscriber list. We use this information to send product updates, new-feature announcements and occasional Nutsy Notes news. Newsletter subscription is optional and is not required to use or purchase Nutsy Notes. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every marketing email.

Service providers and disclosure
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be processed by providers needed to operate Nutsy Notes and its website, including:
- Google, for consent-based analytics;
- our website hosting provider, for delivery, operation and security;
- our email provider, when you contact us;
- Lemon Squeezy, as Merchant of Record and licensing provider for paid purchases, and as the provider of the Nutsy Notes subscriber list and marketing-email delivery.
Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or when reasonably necessary to protect the security, integrity or legal rights of Nutsy Notes or its users.
If you follow a link to a third-party website or social network, that provider processes your activity under its own privacy policy. A link alone does not give Nutsy Notes access to information you provide there.

Why limited information is processed
Technical request and security information is processed as necessary to deliver, protect and troubleshoot the services. Optional analytics information is processed with consent to measure and improve the free website and web application. Activation information is processed to supply and protect the paid license. Purchase records are processed to fulfil orders, provide support, prevent fraud and meet accounting, tax and legal obligations. Newsletter information is processed to send the communications you requested. Support correspondence is processed to respond to your request and maintain necessary records.

How long information is retained
Nutsy Notes does not retain your notes, workspace content or local files because this information is not sent to us.
- GA4 user- and event-level retention is configured to two months.
- The activation endpoint's salted rate-limit counter expires after ten minutes. The Nutsy Notes activation plugin creates no separate request, customer or entitlement log.
- Lemon Squeezy retains transaction, tax, fraud, order and licensing records under its policies and applicable legal obligations.
- Newsletter subscriber information is retained by Lemon Squeezy while you remain subscribed and as otherwise required under its policies and applicable legal obligations.
- Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer requests, provide support, maintain appropriate business records or meet legal obligations.
- Technical server logs may be retained by our hosting provider for a limited period for operational and security purposes.

International processing
Some service providers may process limited technical or contact information in countries other than your own. Their processing is subject to their contractual commitments, privacy policies and safeguards required by applicable law.

Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to personal information processed about you, including rights to access, correct or delete information, object to certain processing, restrict processing, withdraw consent or lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.
You can reject optional analytics or change your choice through the privacy controls. You can unsubscribe from newsletter messages using the unsubscribe link included in every marketing email. You can disable automatic desktop update checks in Settings. Rights relating to transaction or subscriber information processed by Lemon Squeezy may also be exercised through Lemon Squeezy.
Because Nutsy Notes has no user accounts and does not receive workspace content, in many cases we do not possess information that could be provided, corrected or deleted. For information we control, contact support@nutsynotes.com.

Security
Keeping workspace content local significantly reduces the personal information Nutsy Notes needs to process. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information processed through the website and business services. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy
Nutsy Notes is actively developed. We will update this policy before or when a new feature materially changes how personal information is processed. The current version and revision date will remain available on this page.
