01 / Structure & writing

Build the structure while you work.

01 Spatial workspace structure A clear hierarchy from workspace to individual item.
  • Workspaces organized into columns.
  • Columns can contain vertically divided, independently scrollable segments.
  • Segments contain ordered panels.
  • Panels can contain multiple heterogeneous blocks.
  • Blocks can contain text, lists, images or drawings.
  • List items support three hierarchy levels: Level 0, Level 1 and Level 2.
  • Columns, segments, panels, blocks and items retain a clear structural relationship.
02Direct, hierarchical writingWrite first; shape hierarchy with familiar keys.
  • Click empty writing space and begin typing.
  • Enter creates the next item at the current level.
  • Tab and Shift+Tab change hierarchy.
  • Backspace can outdent or remove an empty item.
  • Enter at the beginning of an existing item inserts a new item before it.
  • Blank lines can remain intentional writing space.
  • Wrapped text remains part of one item.
  • Lists automatically preserve hierarchy and order.
03List modesFour list behaviors without changing the underlying material.
  • Plain.
  • Bullets.
  • Numbered.
  • Checklist.
  • Automatic numbering.
  • Checklist completion state.
  • Configurable bullet styles, including colors, checks and crosses.
04Move anythingReorder text, branches, blocks, panels and columns.
  • Move individual items.
  • Move an item together with its complete descendant branch.
  • Move items between lists and panels.
  • Change hierarchy during drag by moving horizontally.
  • Move complete blocks between panels.
  • Move complete panels between segments and columns.
  • Drag beyond the final column to create a new column automatically.
  • Reorder columns.
  • Grid snapping keeps spatial placement consistent.
  • One completed drag equals one Undo step.
05Copy and duplicate structured objectsKeep hierarchy and media intact while copying.
  • Copy panels, blocks or item subtrees without flattening their structure.
  • Paste internal Nutsy objects while preserving hierarchy and media.
  • Copy also provides portable plain text for other applications.
  • Paste multiline external text as multiple items.
  • Duplicate selected items, blocks or panels in place.
  • Ctrl/Cmd+D duplicates the selected object.
  • Shift+Drag creates a movable copy while leaving the source in place.
06Selection and editing across itemsWork across separate objects without losing text continuity.
  • Select objects through their handles without interfering with text editing.
  • Shift-select multiple items or blocks.
  • Delete multiple selected subtrees in one action.
  • Select text continuously across separate items inside one panel.
  • Copy, cut, delete or replace cross-item text as one operation.
  • Arrow and Shift+Arrow navigation can continue into adjacent text items.
  • URLs remain editable text and can be opened with Ctrl/Cmd+click.
07Text formatting and directionMinimal formatting with genuine mixed-direction support.
  • Bold, italic and underline.
  • Heading 1, Heading 2 and Heading 3.
  • Text and highlight colors.
  • Left alignment.
  • Center alignment.
  • Right alignment with true RTL direction.
  • Alignment can be applied at panel, block or item-subtree level.
  • Mixed LTR and RTL content can coexist in one workspace.

02 / Media & time

More than text, without becoming noisy.

08ImagesFull-width media or hierarchical items.
  • Add an image as a full-width block.
  • Add an image as a hierarchical list item.
  • Drag an image block into a list to convert it into an item.
  • Image-item size reflects its hierarchy level.
  • Paste images from the clipboard.
  • Drop image files from the operating system.
  • Add an empty image placeholder and attach the file later.
  • Open images in a full-viewport viewer.
  • Move, indent, duplicate and delete images like other objects.
09DrawingsSimple bitmap drawing inside the same object system.
  • Add drawings as blocks or hierarchical list items.
  • Open a drawing in an enlarged bitmap editor.
  • Pen and Eraser tools.
  • Configurable stroke color and width.
  • Clear drawing.
  • Each completed stroke is independently undoable.
  • Move, indent, duplicate and delete drawings like other objects.
  • Duplicated drawings can later be edited independently.
10Timers and remindersAttach time directly to the item it belongs to.
  • Attach one timer or reminder directly to a text item.
  • Live countdown badges.
  • Reminder date and time.
  • Urgent visual state during the final minute.
